“Rock journalism is people who can’t write interviewing people who can’t talk for people who can’t read” (Frank Zappa) – Comment

Oh my gosh, I have no clue for this statement. When I google for information on this topic I got to see he also has other funny quotes that don’t not make senses at all. He seriously needs someone to help him. I think Mr Frank Zappa is insulting the rock community and they are the ones that provide us with music. If I understand this statement correctly, I think he is saying all the people that are into rock they are useless and the fans are loss as they have no idea of what is going on the music industry. The whole world must laugh at this man. He is the one that is lost and us (the fans). Mr Zappa, if you want us to respect you than you must also respect us, the fans. Respect comes from both sides.

Being in a music industry is not easy as what you thing. It is very tough, that’s why you sometimes see an artist releasing one album in one year and the second one is release after three or four years. South Africa needs more Kwaito, Hip - Hop and Rock and Roll music.

Mr Zappa can say what ever he wants to say. He can use freedom of speech to his advantage. The sun won’t shine on him only but to everyone. Being famous does not mean you should hurt the fans through words. Let’s respect each other, Mr Zappa.

Stay cool when difficulties test you

Occasionally, when we are faced with tragedies and our needless suffering, our hope grows dim. Unexpected hurts, such as the loss of loved one, or major disappointments in life may leaves seeking answer to many questions that arise in our mind. We have to be calm and remember that God’s ways are not our ways and our ways are not His. We have to carry in faith and trust, even though we may not find the answers we seek. It is always a struggle to try to figure out why something has happened.

Sometimes we need to put our shattered dreams back together and work even harder to achieve them. Failing should not break us, but make us stronger in overcoming the obstacles that stand between us and succeed. Every person expects certain things from life. That is why we want to achieve me.

My pastor always says every journey that we start is already finished and concluded to Him. We are destined to proper in every situation, and the journey is not over until we have overcome difficulties.

That is why some things unfold as we travel through life. If giving up is not an option, we need to find alternative ways to reach ways to reach our destiny. There is no need to panic and become so anxious that we cannot move forward.

Education is the key to succeed

Of course education is the key to succeed. The reason why we are at tertiary level is because we want to succeed in life and leave a better life. Education is considered basic to one’s life. Education makes man a right thinker. It tells man how to think and hoe to make decision. I personally say education is for the mind.

The first thing that strikes me about education is the knowledge gain. Education gives us the knowledge of the world around us. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have view on everything in life. My little sister asked me a question saying is education the only thing that gives knowledge. I answered her saying yes and my friend that I was with said education is a process of gaining information about the surrounding world while knowledge is totally different.

Education is important because it equips us with all that is needed to make our dream come true. In this case all public relations students want to be in public relations industries and become manager and some want to run their own companies. If it was not for education there won’t be anyone thinking about this beautiful ideas.

Without education it will be hard to succeed and those of us that have an education let’s make use of it and make a difference in our lives.

Gratitude

Every day I wake up complaining about this and that. Is that normal? I always think of getting a job in a mining company that pays me good. I never feel that what I have is enough because I’m always in the fast lane, wanting something better.

Most of us we expected things to happen quickly, and want things to come our way as we ask for them. It’s difficult to not want the success and the” good life” because we have so many opportunities and choices to be and so whatever we want. God has planned our journey and experience. Many people have become such selfish beings that we find it difficult to be still, look around us and appreciate the things that we are blessed with because we are always chasing things. People feel they never have enough. I know how difficult it must be to show appreciation when you are going through a difficult time, especially in the recession.

Be grateful that you still have people around you to make you happy and no matter what they are there through thick and thin, unless those people are not your true friends. It’s the little things that we take for granted but it’s those little things that make so much difference. Remember to show gratitude even if life seems unfair, be grateful that you still have a second chance to make things right.

Keeping my identity

I cannot tell you how much friends I have heard or seen moving in and out of relationships in the last few months. Please people don’t get me wrong, I’m happy always happy when a friend of mine is happy and even happier if the happiness is from deep within.

What I have observed for the past years is that the best way to start my relationship is by having a perfect relationship with yourself. Once the relationship with yourself is flawless, then you are ready to include others in your personal space.

We tend to look for someone who will complete us and even when you are get married, the partner is called the “better half”. It will take many people a long time to reach this stage where and not looking for completion. One of my belief is that we should not go look for happiness elsewhere, because if we are not happy with ourselves.

We have tendency to hurt for a person we believe will rescue us from ourselves. Through out my life I have grown to understand that is whole” I am looking for someone who is going to make me happy” is something that we grown up believing when are not happy with ourselves.

When one is happy, you attract happy people around you.

Forgive & forget

I’m just thinking of the recent things happening in Namibia. Managing Director of Nampower made a silly comment about the newly formed party. He thought he was protesting the new party but actually insulting them. He apologized last week to the public.

We can all learn something from this drama. We can choose to continue being angry or we can choose to forgive and forget. Many people say that they can forgive but they can’t forget. What a cliché. Part of forgiving is forgetting so that you can start a fresh and keep moving on your journey called life. My mother say forgetting is like a would that covered and heals, but leaves a scar. We need to learn to forgive, and tried and tested way is to forget yourself first. This task is very difficult as we are often hander on ourselves than we are on others.

We are face many issues every day, and we burden ourselves by seeing everything that happens a weapon out to destroy us and our dreams. We tend to take everything personally and cannot tell the difference between attacks and constructive criticism. When you forgive you are doing your part to make the world a more peaceful and better place.

10 most unexpected consequences of being online

I like being online as I get to learn many things. Being online helps people to communicate to their love ones. When people are online they for get that time is money. In fact, there are unexpected consequences of being online. They are as followed:

1. Seeing my father and mother on facebook. It will be even worse if they add my best friend.
2. Getting involve in a e-mail scam
3. You can make new friend and build a good relationship with them
4. The funny thing is that someone is always watching you. I hate that.
5. People become addicted to facebook and twitter. They don’t have time to chat to people that aren’t on facebook or twitter.
6. Meeting wired friends and having nothing in common
7. Finding that you share a name and surname with someone that you don’t know
8. People use facebook to hurt other people
9. It can transform into getting or finding a job
10. Spending money to use internet in meanwhile you have nothing to eat

It is import to be aware of those things that I mention because they can happen to any one on this planet. They seem to be simple but take them into consideration.

Andy Warhol said, “In the future everybody will be world famous for fifteen minutes”

Well, I never thought that in the future everybody will be world famous for fifteen minutes. It took me a while to think about it. I thought to myself that God made me different from other people and I’m unique in my own way. What will stop me from being famous for fifteen minutes? I should not waste my talent that God gave me. I have to make use of it or else I won’t be famous for fifteen minutes.

Public Relations is my career and I’m happy that I chose this field. Public relations is all about publicity which mean I will be in the public eye. If I have to make a speech on behalf of Namibia on BBC television I will be world famous for fifteen minutes. The Good part is that people will still remember me and I will use it to my advantage.

Being world famous for fifteen minutes allows you to be on the red carpet and be like other famous people in the world. You need to work hard to be famous and make money because you will be in the public eye. Being famous and having money is part of being a celebrity.

Personal autonomy – how far does it extend?

Personal autonomy is being independent and able to speak for oneself. We are all raised by different parents with different religious and different back grounds. In other word, we are different from one other. I believe being independent one can achieve his/her goal because he/she does not depend on other people. Being independent is not bad at all as long as you know what is right and what is wrong. Being independent, you also need people’s ideas so that you can learn from them.

Personal autonomy goes as far as the rules and regulations. After Jacob Zuma became a president, many people thought they are free to do what ever they want. They forgot that the government won’t allow that. The government has rules and regulations that we all need to follow. No one can change rules and regulations, not even the ministers and or communication. We all have to obey them.

Money makes the world go round

Oh my goodness, this statement is very true. The statement basically means money is the root of all evil. There is no way to survive without money because it feeds us, clothes and keeps a roof over our heads. If I decide to travel from point A to B, I will need money. To some people money is not evil, but the love of money is called the root of all evil.In other words we can't live without money.

We earn money in order for us to fulfill our needs and responsibilities. If we use the money wisely, it will enable them to live a happy and a blameless life, and will not do them any harm. All too often, however, money takes over people’s lives, and they become obsessed with acquiring it by any mean, fair or soul. The reason that makes people to love money is the power that it gives to enjoy sensual pleasures.

These days people especially women they do anything just for money. Some women they sell their bodies and some they go steal other people’s things that do not belong to them. That is why people say money is evil.

Money makes the world go round because we think of money every time and when we have money. We don’t thank God. I think this is unfair. We should learn to thank God and he will bless us with more money.

Please people let us not put money before God. We must learn to work hard so that we make money and not to depend on other people. Money is evil.

Watch this space

What is coming? Keeping an open eye and mind, it is a call to staying aloof and aware of what is coming as in keep a bookmark in your mind to act as a constant reminder of that particular topic. In general terms one could use the upcoming 2012 craze, which highlights the idea of a new age of a conscience human being, a changing world where we as humans are moving towards a era of homo Spiritus as we become more conscious and spiritually inclined.
Other ways in which the phrase watch this space is used is in magazines and newspapers (print media) where an allocated part of the publication is specifically for a certain organization and they publish announcements or advertisements for their establishment and they would then at times print “watch this space” in anticipation of an upcoming big event that the organization would like to keep the public aware of. The purpose is to build up anticipation, excitement and a sense of wonder and to keep the mind enquiring, with that organization in mind.

From my experience when I click on vacancies at Rossing Mining Company (the company that i'm dying to work for) website. It always says watch this space. It motivates me to go on the website every to see whether there are vacancies in public relations or communication.

Conventional is a good fallback

I would disagree with this motion as conventional would mean that one would have to act and in turn be what is set to be the norm of society. One leads towards convention as a sign of laziness or in fear of non – acceptance. How dull would it be if the world was constructed along the lines of convention instead of individuality? Where individuals live in their own light and not according to what is accepted to be truth or right in society’s light.

A colorful, kaleidoscopic fallback based on individually motivated reasons is a good basis for a fallback if ever. The Motion of conventional being a good fallback might seem to some as better as when ideas are bought up they would seem to be too much or rather decorated in ways that would seem excessive and conventional would always be a decent place to fall back on cause one would claim that it is what is already familiar and has some sort of longstanding tradition to know that it works. This is a rather conservative point of departure that is not really enthusiastic about change and the development of new dynamic, modern ideas.

Conventional is rather settling for something. Some would see it as laziness as ideas are forever free flowing and there is so much space to maneuver, such freedom for creativity whether of thoughts only or of thoughts that manifest into actions. We as living, breathing organisms that form part of the organ called humanity should stay true to ourselves and develop of personal individual choices and not settle to what has been developed by society and has become accepted by many as the standard to live by or the conventional way of life and embrace difference and the diverse, steering away from convention.

Nothing is more dangerous than an idea, when you only have one idea.

Ideas are the result of a thought process that one goes through, be it creatives in a brainstorming in a professional setting e.g. Art directors in advertising or be it in a personal capacity sitting in a train in silence surrounded by strangers. The thought process could be sparked by something one might have seen, starting a chain of thoughts leading to an idea one might have. Individuality is a key aspect of an idea as even though the thought process might have been sparked by someone else, the thoughts that follow are completely one’s own being aided by one’s character.
Background, experiences and culture would play a role in the formation of an idea. As isolated as an idea is, it draws from various aspects of life, passed, present or future. Think outside the box is an expression constantly used in professions that are art orientated or creatively motivated, this is an encouragement to take the point of departure in terms of the topic or concept and not to only think of ideas which are in close relation to it. One could for example then take something conventionally seen as unrelated and find it somehow making sense to group together.

In the case of only having one idea, the danger comes in when it is worked into ones ideology and way of life, you only see everything in one light, nothing else is considered. An example could be that of an extremist Muslim, they would only see one way and have one way of doing things, it’s either that one way or nothing else, if one doesn’t fall within the confines of that ideal that the extremist has in his mind then you could pose as a threat to him and might cause him/her to label you, the enemy. Danger exudes when sense or an alternative direction of thought in a new light cannot be instilled.

Pray as a priest, speak as a king

Wow, I want learn how to pray like a priest and speak like a king. No one can stop me from learning. It is up to me and my God. South Africa and Namibia are blessed to have many Christian. Still may people in South Africa are yet to hear the good news of Christ’s salvation. This is why it is important for us God’s people to pay for Christian ministries, ministers of the gospel and fellow believers in the effort to evangelize the nation.

Praying like a priest it will take some times because it requires experience. One has to put in lots of afford so that the people knows what one is trying to say. At the end of the day the people have to learn something from you. Any come can become a preacher as long as you know that word of God. As one pray, you’ll see visions of God. You‘ll see sinners not only coming to Christ, but also preaching the gospel and winning other. How nice is that. You will see when the church is packed with people

If you do this, you’ll be functioning in your office as praying priest and reigning king. It will be better you take some time to pray for the impact of the gospel of Lord Jesus Christ in South Africa and Namibia.

Who are we to judge Caster Semenye?

Caster Semenye is eighteen year old athletics from South Africa who recently won gold mental at the World championships in Berlin has been thrown into a spotlight. After winning it was not due to the victory but it was on Semenye gender status.

My question is: who are we to judge the poor person, Semenye? According to the bible God says not one has the right to judge other people. People made it sound like Semenye is not a human being. Shame! We are a hurting the poor Semenye, who is bringing medals to South Africa. South African people should be happy and celebrating together with Semenye’s victory. It seems like the people of South Africa are more concern about our champion gender status. Which semenye and her parents don’t feel like saying it to anybody. The media on the other hand is still pushing to find out weather semenye is a man or woman. I think we should wait until semenye is ready to tell us. We should not force because against the law to reveal other people’s personal information on the media without promise from the person.

Please people stop judging other people and let us wait until semenye is ready to tell us and not to conclude ourselves.

What motivate me?

What are question? This question is very deep. Let me see how I am going to answer this question. According to oxford dictionary it defines motivation as the activation or energization of goal-oriented behavior. What I know about motivation it can be internal or external.

In 2007 I used to work for Namdeb Mining Company in Namibia as Communication Officer. I was motivated by seeing the whole communication department working together as a team and the job is always done propely at the right time. This had motivated me to work in a company where they allow people to work in a team and share ideas. To me honest, that is what I’m looking for in a company and it motivate me to do my best. Another thing what motivate me is when I’m making progress in all my subjects especially that this year is my last year here at CPUT. I really feel encourage do study and do my assignments on time. That what I like when things are going well.

I’m praying everyday for God to encourage me to do my best so that I can be like other people who are working in public relations industries writing articles and organising events. It is a good feeling when one is motivated because you end up doing the right thing.

students protest at CPUT

Cape Peninsula University of Technology is the only university of technology in the Western Cape Province. It has over 29 000 students.

CPUT this year protest for various issue such as an increase tuition fee for 2010 and poor maintain facilities. This has cause vandalise and disruption of class at CPUT. The students that were protesting have damage items such as tables, chairs compute and lots more. The staff and management find it very difficulty to do their job properly because the facilities or equipments were damage by the students.

The first protest was in April when the student protest for poorly maintained facilities. Students were demanding for more television, stoves, fridge and washing machine. It was not as violence as the second protest. The second was in August 2009 and the students express their anger over the tremendous increase in registration fees for 2010. The students have to pay on upfront tuition fees for R 3000 to R 5000 for students that live in residences and R 1800 – R 3000 for those who live off campus. The students are complaining that they don’t have that amount of money. They want their voice to be heard.

CPUT had a bad reputation this year because there were so many protests. From now on people will have a negative attitude toward CPUT. Parents will send their children to other university of technology around South Africa but not CPUT.

I think it would be better if CPUT identify a spokesperson for the institution to avoid misunderstanding. Management, staff and students must be communicate on time.

"Bunch of animals" is one comment on CPUT strikes in August. What is yours?

O my Gosh, why are we (students) called a bunch of animals and why are they referring us to animals? Are we not human beings? Do you think it has to do with our behaviour or what? That’s what I think. When people are referred to an animal that means they don’t use their brain at all, what they can think of is to vandalise and complain the next day. “Bunch of animals” one can see them vandelising the institution properties and hitting each other for no reasons.

Please people, don’t do this again. The next generation still needs to use this institution. Education is for everyone who wants to pursue his or her career at CPUT. In my own opinion I would say there were a bunch of hooligans at CPUT and those hooligans think they can get away with everything since they are part of this institution. They will strike until they vandalise the institution properties, forgetting that they will come back to the very same institution and wanting to use those computers, projectors and libratories they have vandalize. When those equipments are not working they want to strike for the new equipments. It seems like we are paying our fees for nothing because at the end of the day we don’t do work due to the strike. That is unfair for some of the students who are not protesting and not vandalising at the same time.

Students please don’t behave like animals learn to talk to the management.

Everyday is a good day

Yesterday I asked a few of my friends if they agree with this statement that everyday is a good day. 95 percent of them say no because sometimes they are crying, sometimes they are sad and sometimes they are exhausted. They said how it can be a good day if all those things are happing to them everyday. Personally, I agree with the statement that everyday is a good day. I think that we should all change our attitudes so that we believe that this can be true.

We must change our attitudes so that we can have a good day. Attitude plays a big role in our lives especially if you want to have a good day. God says that everyday is a good day and we have to trust him. I just think we need to change our attitude to be positive. If not than we will have a problem.

Everyday when we open our eyes early in the morning we plan what we are going to do for the day. For example, meeting the deadlines and being on time for the appointments. If everything is going according to your plans that means it is going to be a good day for you. Everyday gives us another chance to show the world who we are and what we can do. Everyday brings another opportunity in lives. For example, we learn new things every day from our parents and at CPUT. Of course everyday is a good day because there are so many things that we can do in that one day.

Let us make use of each day because everyday is a good day.

Our greatest strengths are our greatest weakness

Oh my goodness, this statement is very true. People tend to be very confident in what ever they are doing and they forget that their greatest strengths are their greatest weakness. Almost everyone went through that and it is a good feeling. The problem only starts when person become too confident. Everything changes from being positive to negative.

People should know that their strength can become their weakness anytime especially when they think they know everything about that specific something. The people that are too confident, they end up ignoring other people’s idea and they only think of themselves. They think they know everything and the other people must just listen to them without saying any word. This is very dangerous because people learn from each other and no one is prefect in this world, expect God. To talk the truth being good at something does not mean you awe this world. So don’t expect people every time to listen to you. Rather practice and make a difference in your life when you know that you are too prefect.

Please people don’t make your strength your weakness rather make your weakness your strength, so you can improve on your weakness. It is very important to identity your weakness and work hard on it. Don’t give up

Feelings fellow behaviour

I’m sure that everyone will agree with the statement “feelings follow behaviour”. According to Wikipedia, it describes feelings as the ability to perceive physical sensation in a part of the body and behaviour as the way in which somebody behaves. In my own words I define behaviour as an action of how people behave. Feelings and behaviour work hand in hand with each.

The feelings that we get will reflect on our behaviours. It can either be in a good or bad way, depending on the situation that one is face with. Why is that so? Does this statement make sense to you? To me this statement is the other ways around because the behaviour follows feelings. Is that not so? Let us face reality now. Think of Cape Peninsula University of Technology students during examination time, they are stress and if you happen to meet a student that wrote a difficult paper on that day one can see it from his/her face. He or she is sad. Another example, when you are in love with someone, you will behave well to that person because you are happy.

If you never experience that in life that means you don’t know how your body works.

It is better to practice a little than talk a lot

I agree with the statement, it is better to practice a little than talk a lot. Cape Peninsula University of Technology students like complaining that the workload is too much. If you think deep, the workload will be too much because we wait until the last minute. If you finish your assignments on time you won’t complain. Students that like complaining are those that talks too much and they never submit any assignments. I think this should come to the end. There is a say that goes “practice makes prefect”. Which means the more you practice, the better result you will get? Is it not so?

It is important for us public relations students to practice on our writing skills before we go work next year. It is all about practicing to write proper articles. We must write so that we can improve on our writing skills. Talking too much won’t help us to pass Media Studies. In some cases keeping quite is the best way to talk.

You will bore the people around you especially when you talk about your goals that you want to achieve and not doing anything to show that you will achieve your goals. People will start calling you names such as: Mr/Miss no action. Talking too much is not good at all. Sometimes your body says much before you start talking. That is what I called the action speak louder than word.

It is important for us to start taking action and not to talk too much. At the end of the day it will be us (Students) that will be faced with the problem. Take action and become someone better in life.

It is a poor idea to lie to yourself

Of course, it is a poor idea to lie to yourself because it is a bad thing. Sometimes one gets use to it and it is difficult to change back from where you were. In life, many people think when they lie to themselves they can get away with it. Which is not true at all?

Yesterday I was conducting a research at Cape Peninsula university of Technology. I manage to interview ten students. I ask them the following questions: why do you lie to yourself? How many times did you lie to yourself? Do you think it is a good idea to lie? Do you lie to impress other people? I got really good responds from students and I can’t believe myself. Most of the students said they lie to themselves we they come from, what they do, to please other people, to hurt other people emotionally, to hide from the truth and to attempt to make our life better.

People should know that it is a poor idea to lie to yourself. In the bible Jesus said you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. It means in life we should always seek to tell the truth to any challenge we are facing.

We must stop lying to ourselves because it is a poor idea to lie to ourselves. Let us face reality and become a better person.

Not all those who wander are lost

I agree with this statement “Not all who wander are lost.” Many of us dream to get good things in life but not all of us get to live our dreams. We tend to ask yourselves questions. Why this happening to me? Is there something wrong with me? Sometimes we even end up comparing our lives with our friends who are progressing. I know it is hard to see your friend progressing while you are not. I think we should bear in mind that we are all different from one other.

We go through that in life, and it not because we want too. I think it’s because God wants to see who is strong and whose not. If you are strong enough you will fellow the right directions still you reach your goals. If you are not strong you won’t make it. But there is a chance for that person to change and fellow the right direction. God is there to guide us anytime.

Most people think that all who wander are lost. Talking from a point of view, I think sometimes it can be a right answer or wrong answer. The reason for that is because we are all different from each other and we can never look a like. In life, it very important to except yourself for who you are and fellow your heart.

I believe not all wander are lost.

How do you step from the top of a 100 - foot pole?

Well, stepping off from the top of a 100 foot pole can never be easy to anyone because people take risks in order for them to achieve their goals. In life, people should learn to take risk and work hand. We should bear in mind that not all risks we take will work out, but one day one of them will work out. Don’t give up! Remember if you don’t try you won’t get anywhere in life.

Think of people that you know that used to be rich and now they are poor. I’m sure you could come up with a list of people. When you look at them they are frustrated because life is not the same anymore. To be in this situation I think it is one of the most difficult situation that could happen to anyone and one would never forget it.

It takes time or years to reach 100 – foot pole and it takes few minutes to drop from 100 – foot pole to zero foot pole. In this world there are a lot of people who have worked so hard to climb the ladder and reach the 100 – foot pole. The next moment those people are down. Life is like a wheel. One will never stay on top of a 100 – foot pole forever if you don’t work hand. The moment you stop working hand you will see yourself down. The rich people tend to think that they are better and smarter than everyone. They forget that the might God has blessed them to be rich.

I hope that won’t happen to me because I don’t know what I will do. God is the only person that can help me to solve my problems.

We are what we do

Think about this statement “We are what we do”. The statement sounds very simple and straight forward. From my point of view I think it is more complicate then what people think. When I close my eyes and think about the statement, what comes in my mind is the people’s personal life and career life.

I remember when I was in high school, my friends used to judge me because I was a head girl. My fellow colleagues always want to know what I’m wearing and they want to know if I pass all my subjects. I used to hate it. Thank God I am not in high school anymore.

In life, people judge you on what you do. For example public relations officer is judge on how he or she speaks to his or her target audience and how he or she presents himself or herself. In most cases we tend to judge other people from outside rather then inside. It is normal because people judge others on what they have or what they do. There is a say that goes” never judge a book by its cover.” It means don’t judge a person from outside. In order for anyone to be happy, you need work hard and achieve your goals. Don’t look back.

I fully agree with the statement “We are what we do”.

We are afraid of the wrong things

I fully agree with the statement. We are afraid of wrong things because it will cost us at the end of the day. We basically think of what is going to happen if you made a wrong decision. In the working environment, where by you have to work with lots of people with different backgrounds. It’s even worse because it affect your whole life especially at home. You end up taking the stress on your children even your husband or your wife. Some of us when we make decisions, we tend to remind ourselves always if we are making the best decision.

There is a problem I have dealt with my entire life...I am afraid of making the "wrong" decision. For example, in 2005 I was working at Nampo as an Assistant Communications Officer. I used to enjoy my job but the problem was the people that I work with including my boss. The employees use to fight, shout at each other when one makes a mistake. On top of that the employees don’t have respect for each other. What used to irritate me the most was the manager of Nampo, she will shout at me if I don’t take the newsletters to the various departments within the company. The funny thing is that she has to tell me where to take the newsletters. I can’t decide on my own because I’m scared she will shout at me.

To talk the truth we are afraid of our wrong doing.

The colour of the wind

What a question? I don’t even know what to say because the wind doesn’t have a colour. I would describe wind as a flow of air or other gases that compose an atmosphere. When I was a little girl growing up I used to think that the wind is white. When I was twenty one years old girl I use to think the wind is colourless, which means the wind has no colour at all but it is transparen. Now that I am big and mature I think the colour of the wind is colourful because it depends on my mood and attitude. On the other hand only God knows the colour of the wind.

The wind blows from one direction to another. I can only feel the wind. If I am force to come up with the colours of the wind, I would say it will depend on my mood and attitude each day. When it is hot, it will be red; when it is warm, it will be green; when I am sad, it will be purple; when I am happy, it will be blue and when I feel jealous the colour of the wind will be yellow. At the end, the wind will be colourful each time I change in a different mood. My body reacts very quickly because I have sensitive skin.

The colour of the wind is colourful.

If I were a boss....

In my own words I define a boss as somebody who is responsible for directing and controlling the work and employees of a company, or of a department within it. If I were a boss I do anything to run the company well, reach the goals and objectives of the company and allow investors to invest in the company. I know that is not an easy thing but I will try by all means to run the company successful. I think is important that the boss has the mechanisms in place that allow ideas to bubble up from all corners of the company.

I would like to be seen as a role model to the employees and set a good an example in what ever I do. As a boss, I have to remember my responsibilities such as: manage media relations by creating positive working relations with various media outlets, speak on behalf of the company, manage PR budget, develops and implements public relations activities that promote to key stakeholders, ensures that departmental records are accurate and up to date, determines training needs of employees and so on.

Time management is very important at work and I have to watch out every time on that and meet the deadlines. I have to build a good relationship with the employees so that I can hear from their sides of view. This will be done in a form of writing or speaking. There is no job in this world in which employees don't need to communicate with other employees.

Introduce a weekly meeting with the line managers to hear feedback from their sections. In this way it will help me to hear the achievement of the company and challenges facing the company. I’m one person who believes in team work because work can be done properly and on time.

I will also introduce formal training programs for new employees. After gaining experience, the trainees write news releases, speeches, and articles for publication or plan and carry out public relations programs.

I think I will be the best boss if the employees also support me and work together as a team.

my favourite band in South Africa

Nearly every year a new band in South Africa is formed. It shows that there are an increase number of bands and an opportunity out there in the industry. There are so many bands in the country such as Abacuss, 1st project, 350 ml, Malaka, Afro Blue , Afro Fiesta , Afro Conque, Babu and Bala Brothers just to mention a few but Springbok Nude Girls (SNG) is my favorite band. The reasons for me liking the band is because they sexy and young, the beats are good and basically they just it for me. They never disappoints me when it comes to their beats.

Springbok Nude Girls (SNG) was at the top of the game in South Africa. They released a song and it went to Number 1. They released an album and it went to Number 1. They went on tour and it sold out. If I can remember correctly they had to move to the US to take it to the next step and chose not to due to certain circumstances. The Nude Girls were voted the Best South Africa rock band in a poll conducted by South African radio station 5FM

The Nude Girls introduced punk, sku acid jazz and metal into their songs, introducing a new world of music to the youth of South Africa in the early 1990s. The Nudies became not only favourites in South African households, but stars and influences in the South African music industry at large. The band has performed at various places such as at schools, festivals and concerts. One can see that they are working so hard to be on top of the other bands and they do deserve to be on top. I´ve heard this song for the very first time on my way from the airport of Cape Town to downtown, driving past some townships. Will never ever forget this moment! I love the band and especially the first song.

In 2003 I have watched them performing at V&A Waterfront, they were so good in fact it was my first time seeing the band performing live. I really don’t mind buying their CD because the price is worth. I’m one of the people that likes listening jazz and this band just do it for me. I listen to the music because of the beats not the words, as long as I shake my head and enjoy myself.

I will always support Springbok Nude Girls no matter what. They make South Africa proud and they rock.
