Forgive & forget

I’m just thinking of the recent things happening in Namibia. Managing Director of Nampower made a silly comment about the newly formed party. He thought he was protesting the new party but actually insulting them. He apologized last week to the public.

We can all learn something from this drama. We can choose to continue being angry or we can choose to forgive and forget. Many people say that they can forgive but they can’t forget. What a cliché. Part of forgiving is forgetting so that you can start a fresh and keep moving on your journey called life. My mother say forgetting is like a would that covered and heals, but leaves a scar. We need to learn to forgive, and tried and tested way is to forget yourself first. This task is very difficult as we are often hander on ourselves than we are on others.

We are face many issues every day, and we burden ourselves by seeing everything that happens a weapon out to destroy us and our dreams. We tend to take everything personally and cannot tell the difference between attacks and constructive criticism. When you forgive you are doing your part to make the world a more peaceful and better place.
